[FONT=Georgia]If you follow any miui.us developer chances are you have over heard some talk of a open source Miui project.
You may ask yourself what does it matter if Miui is closed or open? A
lot of the community is happy with stopping by their particular
fansite each week, grabbing the new release and moving on. [/FONT]
[FONT=Georgia]Well from a developer stand point Miui being closed source has been
a huge burden. There are very few developers outside of China have
access to beta builds through out the week. Even with them it does
nothing more then give us the opportunity to see what may be coming
down the pipe on Friday. [/FONT]
[FONT=Georgia] We
translate the officially supported devices and port these to unofficial
devices. With no real communication as to what they have done code
wise week to week. When bugs exist the experienced developers scramble
to try to figure out a fix or band aid to get through to the next week.
The truth is that it is not always easy and sometimes builds will
suffer. [/FONT]
[FONT=Georgia] Through the years many
great developers have gotten tired and moved on. Most very reluctantly
since the huge attraction to Miui is the beauty. Hands down we all
know that no theming system is as nice. [/FONT]
[FONT=Georgia]No one came can blame Miui for this. Miui is owned by the Xiaomi
corporation. If you didn't know they have their own branded phone
released with their own software. They have a goal in mind and we can't
argue that. Corporations will do what corporations do, which is
protect their investment and make money. [/FONT]
[FONT=Georgia] The problem is that doesn't jive the nature of our android community!!![/FONT]

Rom with all the features we have come to love from Miui has a lot of
people as excited as we are. This will be a slow process because the
nature of the work. We have no intention on rushing in. We have a lot
of ideas and a lot of things to consider. [/FONT]

mean time we have some screen shots that will show progress is being

why is it you guys want more fan sites and international followers
when you have neglected to inform developers that your new
installd binary limits port developers to creating miui ports for
non-official devices.[/FONT]

you guys are creating a walled garden os like apple. Over the last
few months you guys have dropped the ball on the rom and quality
seems to be replaced with ideas of monetizing the rom. You are
probably aware of an open source effort to re-make miui framework as
people are growing tired of the lack of support for international
users. Oppo finder is another prime example of issues. No aapt
