ROM] [P] [9.0.0] Velocity Shamu

• Ok, lets do this thing....this is likely not perfect but I have really high standards for builds. It is definitely daily driveable. Ive been on Pie for weeks now. Im using these GApps but Im sure there are others available. The only oddity Ive seen is the cell radio not automatically turning back on/reconnecting after reboot. This doesnt happen all the time and it doesnt happen for everyone. If it does, all you need to do is open the dialer and type in *#*#4636#*#* to open the phone info screen and manually toggle the cell radio back on. Apart from that all sensors, data, wifi, BT, NFC, and everything else I can see works as expected. This is essentially stock Pie with Velocity optimizations (most anyway). I will look at adding features at some point soon but I want fast, efficient, and stable first. Clean flash of course coming from anything. If youre device is encrypted you will need to decrypt it before flashing a Pie build. Some people are doing full wipes including internal storage but Its not necessary.I did it as I always do when new OS's come out. This is my version of an "alpha" build so there may be things I havent seen that arent working correctly. At this point Im happy to hear about anything anyone is seeing. I only ask that you give me a reproducible process to recreate the issue.

Oh, Magisk works fine but sometimes it doesnt properly install Magisk manager the first time. Ive found that flashing Rom/GApps, setting everything up, rebooting to recovery, wiping caches, then flashing Magisk seems to work best.

All builds will be here

Have fun and enjoy some tasty Pie!

AWESOME! I'm gonna flash this later and check it out when I get some down time. Thanks again! :D

Also, is WiFi Calling working? Has that been tested yet? Thanks!

• I just tried making a call with cell radio off and it worked fine. Nothing said wifi calling but it went through.

Didn't work for me, I got a pop up saying to turn off airplane mode or connect to a network. I turned mobile data off with *#*#4636#*#*. Other than that, this is probably the smoothest running Pie build I've come across yet!

Thank´s a lot for this excellent ROM.
Flashed zip-file together with "open_gapps-arm-9.0-nano-20180831-UNOFFICIAL.zip" and "Magisk-v17.1.zip" for root.
Yes - Magisk-App has to be installed manualy - use "Magisk_5.9.1.apk" taken from apkmirror - no problem.
First run - everything work 100%!!
.... will give a report if I see a issue/bug.
There is just a little "cosmetic-issue" I see.
The "yellow" charging-led-light looks realy ugly because Nexus 6 can´t display a yellow led-color - it´s an ugly mix.
So if it´s possible to change the "yellow"-value to a blue (#0700ff) ... that would be great!

• People are interested in anything that says Shamu Pie....lol.

This is so true! lol The rom runs great! Just a small bug report here, after running it for a day or so, I noticed that when you reboot the phone, it bootloops until you force power off the device. I'm not getting calls, I've had people tell me they called me several times and my shamu doesn't know anything about that. I also tried re enabling my data with *#*#4636#*#*, didn't work. And WiFi calling doesn't work for me, it tells me to turn off airplane mode or connect to a network. Just some bug reports to help out! I'm eager to see where this build goes! Aside from that, this is the smoothest running build of Pie I've ran on my shamu! Good work! :D

EDIT: Worth noting I'm in the US and on T-Mobile.

• Just a small bug report here, after running it for a day or so, I noticed that when you reboot the phone, it bootloops until you force power off the device. Not reproducible for me

I've had people tell me they called me several times and my shamu doesn't know anything about that. I also tried re enabling my data with *#*#4636#*#*, didn't work. Known issue affecting all Pie builds. Its VOLTE causing the issue. Change to 2G or 3G and youll get calls. Im sure this will get sorted.

And WiFi calling doesn't work for me, it tells me to turn off airplane mode or connect to a network. Also on a T-Mobile MNVO. If I turn off cell radio I can still make calls with WiFI on so I would say WiFI calling is working.

• Ok, so not an ideal "fix" but changing your preferred network type to WCDMA preferred does fix the receiving calls issue so this is 100% related to VOLTE. I'm sure its only a matter of time before this is properly fixed but this definitely works for now.

• @ctfrommn
So if you are allowed and interested, I can gladly take over the translation (German) for the Settings.apk when new features are added. You just have to post the strings.xml files (and possibly other * .xml files) from res\values and res\values-de ... just an offer ...
