GApps included with these variants do not survive after an update since they are designed not to. The reason is that odex files in current ART environment are not portable and usually wont no longer work after an update. So the included GApps should always be odexed and bundled with the ROM.

Q: Why bother to download bigger files bokrom-gapps(-full) when you can just install 3rd party GApps over a smaller bokrom variant?
A: It is a choice between size and speed.

Boot time after flashing an update: All GApps and 3rd party Apps are needed to be 'odexed' (aot - Ahead of Time compiled) - slow
Performance: Since some ROMs are conservatively configured to speed-up the slow 'odexing' during booting time by allowing GApps/apps not to be fully optimized during the process, performance as a whole may probably suffer.
bokrom-gapps(-full)
Boot time after flashing an update: Only 3rd party Apps are needed to be 'odexed' - fast
Performance: Better since GApps are preoptimized.

These unofficial ROMs are fully odexed (compressed) and have been compiled with UBERTC 5.3.x. Most have variants where the latest GApps (minimal/full) are selectively added.
