Seems NFC in its current state is causing the phone to not deep sleep. Im removing Nfc for now until someone gets it working.

Another update in the test folder. Added tap to sleep on navbar, quick pin unlock/scramble, open running services from QS panel, auto brightness icon, brightness slider on bottom of QS panel, pause/resume downloads, download speed, and likely some other stuff Im forgetting.

Correct. My guess is the WhatsApp issue is related to proximity wake which I havent added yet. When I do Ill have you test.

Ok, new 8.1 build up. Same test folder as before

Ok, back on track now. Secure lock issue resolved. BT streaming and Hotspot both work as well as everything else I can see apart from NFC. I'll upload a new test today.

Starting fresh again. Maybe a new build later this week. And someone let me know if any 8.1 Roms have NFC working yet.

Me either. I only noticed this while adding quick pin unlock. My guess is I will start 8.1 fresh again. This is starting to get really messy. I still dont know why sounds didnt work on my earlier builds or why BT streaming does now. This will still be a lot of work before I call this release worthy.

No...worked fine on earlier builds. Ill fix it. Just wanted to let you guys know so you dont use it.

Looks like setting a secure lock on 8.1 build isnt working correctly.

Not sure why you would flash a different kernel, but ok.

More features will come. Im just trying to get a good baseline first.

I have everything working apart from NFC (which I dont think works on any 8.1 Rom) and Hotspot now. Much much more to do, but I think this is daily drivable now. Let me know if any of you want to try these builds and Ill link them here.

Sounds issue is resolved. BT and NFC arent really working as intended though. I'll sort all of this out, it will just take time. And thanks to both for the link. I know about Camcory's source.

Sounds/audio don't work and not sure why so no builds until someone sorts it out.

So, 8.1 does boot on Shamu and things seems to work. Need to see about getting Gapps working but it looks like it will be possible to port this again.

8.1 isnt going to be a simple ordeal. This will be starting completely fresh again unfortunately. I'll keep you updated as builds come out.
