Thats an easy fix, or should be.
I believe so too, no problems in 3rd party app like Footej Camera.
Wysłane z mojego Nexus 5 przy użyciu Tapatalka
And everything works as intended?
Yup, there are only few little bugs like green artefacts on video recorded by Google Camera etc. (it was even on early AOSP 6.0 builds). But hey, Nougat was just released! And the Nexus 5 already has a build stable for daily using. And Nougat is waaay better than 5.x/6.0 in terms of animations smoothness. This thing just flies, really.
There are also only few tweaks to get 6.0 kernel booting in 7.0 (mostly SELinux things).

That's too bad AOSP Nougat already works great on the Nexus 5.

@ctfrommn Do you mabe know if that build.prop value makes any difference in Android of today?
dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=m=y,v=n,o=v,u=n
I have it in my build.prop tweaks file and I don't remember where I found it, maybe even on your older Velocity build but I'm not sure. Basically, does it make any performance difference or not?

Ok, no problem

Is there a HH kernel out there for M that's using a Linux version higher than stock? I see lots of really old commits, but merging those is much too difficult and merging straight from kernel.org source is equally hard. If I can find a relatively easy way to do this I will, but with N coming shortly and HH likely being dropped its not worth my time to struggle with this.
Uber kernel is using latest 3.4.112 version https://github.com/Cl3Kener/UBER-M Cl3kener is a good dev, so you can look at this

Next build (both OMP and Velocity) will have a massive kernel update. Im working on merging the Linux version to the current (3.10.104 I believe). Not sure how far Ill get today, but so far the results are great.
Sorry, have you included also Linux updates for Hammerhead kernel?
Find me the commits and I'll be happy to. Or at least tell me a Rom that has night mode and doesnt have these issues.
That's true that many Roms with Night theme have these bugs. I can't tell you which ROM for sure doesn't, but I would look at Uberstock (it has night mode)
https://github.com/UBERMALLOW
https://github.com/DespairFactor?tab=repositories
and Omni ROM https://github.com/omnirom/
But as I said, it's not big deal and I'm not complaining at all. The most important is that ROM is super stable and super fast.

Chad, there are still minor UI glitches, not a big deal though, just reporting, maybe you will be able to fix that in the free time. For example black text in location quick title, also bug in Clock app settings (as I reported few weeks ago). You may notice that I use Substratum theme, however it has nothing to do with that, it looks exactly equally without any theme.

I just saw this http://bgr.com/2016/08/12/nex…ing-photo-leak/ OMG, these bazels are horrible...

To be honest, I would even buy used Nexus 6, especially when you support it. However, in one year it will be as old as Nexus 5 now, so that's not ideal idea. Will see what the time brings... So far my HH is running great, so I don't worry so much about new phone. I will just wait for the Sailfish release and its price. If the leaked specs are real, I would definitely go for it as a great Hammerhead successor.

I haven't touched anything, stock velocity no mods tweaks etc and get ~ 2,5 h sot my phone is 3 years old with original battery.
I'm going to buy a new battery next month, you do it too! It's really worth it. Also, I have to replace power button, it's going crazy... Good that Velocity has double tap to sleep and volume rocker wake.

Boostpulse duration definitely wont as Im not using boost anywhere. Lowering the target loads and timer rate may make a small difference. I chose the settings so after mpd is done doing its thing the cores drop to idle as fast as possible. Feel free and play with it, but MVK has so few options to tweak for a reason.
Fair enough, thanks! I won't touch anything else in governor
Wysłane z mojego Nexus 5 przy użyciu Tapatalka
That's why I haven't touched highspeed_freq. I just changed boostpulse duration from 30000 to 80000, target loads from 90 to 80 and go_highspeed_load from 99 to 90. That's how it looks
Of course the ROM is fast as hell out of the box, I just do these tweaks for fun. Unless it won't make any difference because of MPDecision behavior?
Wysłane z mojego Nexus 5 przy użyciu Tapatalka
Great battery life. Plus I have tweaked interactive governor a little bit for the performance, so it looks really good in terms of battery. BTW my battery is 2 y/o.

I'm curious if you enabled in Hammerhead kernel tick rate bump from 100Hz to 300Hz which was provided by Google for N5X/6P? Unless it doesn't make any difference along with your optimizations. And sorry if I'm asking too much, I'm just curious and your answers are interesting.
Wysłane z mojego Nexus 5 przy użyciu Tapatalka
I'm really curious what optimizations you're using, but let it be a secret - the most important is that it really works, not placebo or anything.
May I ask you if my RAM usage by system is right? It eats about 700MB of memory, as I remember, on other kernels the usage was smaller. Could it be because of virtual memory settings that I've tweaked a little bit? However, the phone is completely smooth so probably nothing to worry about. RACER_N_20160804

Yes, thats MPDecision doing its thing. 2 cores at 1267 is enough for nearly every task. The longer you use it, the more freqs youll see used but with MPD + tuned Interactive thats exactly how its supposed to behave.
Great then, I'm glad that it's working how it should. You were right, overall experience is even better with your kernel.
Wysłane z mojego Nexus 5 przy użyciu Tapatalka
You wont't believe... I just have installed your kernel. It's absolutely fantastic. It has gamma control, so I will stay with it! One thing - is it good that only 1267Mhz for CPU is used and other freqs aren't used almost at all (apart from deep sleep and 192MHz at idle)?
