Recommended Installation - Please follow

1. Wipe cache/dalvik, data, system (I also recommend that you remove /sdcard/Android folder to avoid conflicts. You'll find some data from system apps on previous ROMs is stored here and causes problems.)
2. Flash ROM
3. Flash Gapps (Try Banks Minimal)
4. Reboot and proceed to setup your device. (ROM kernel is EXT4/F2FS compatible and should boot fine for you)

Once you have got everything setup then you can continue to do the optional things like :

OptiPop ROM - November 15, 2014

Well I merged in LRX21T today and I also managed to add a nicer power menu. You'll now see reboot, airplane mode, and sound toggles. Unfortunately there seems to be a either a feature or a bug in Lollipop that doesn't allow phones to go silent without completely turning off everything. It's discussed at length here:http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/11/14/lol…ly-from-phones/ This menu works except silent mode button. I'll be on the lookout for a fix so that will work in the future too.

I also tried out a few additional optimization flags on ART/BIONIC so see if you can notice a difference or not in performance or benchmarks. Take the poll below for fun too.

OptiPop ROM - November 17, 2014

Okay OptiPop now has a ROM backup Script support so backup scripts located in system/addon.d should prevent files from being erased (meaning that uber.cfg will persist on OptiPop now after you flash an upgrade (assuming you don't wipe the system))

This build I also added reboot to recovery and reboot to bootloader options to power menu now so you can more easily flash things now I looks pretty nice :).

I also decided to add dialer lookup from CM so you can now search for and dial McDonald's. (Or whatever local place you want. I figured McDonald's is found in most places in the world so most of you would know what I was talking about)

I managed to fix recent menu in this build. It doesn't freeze, lag, or have issues that were only resolved by multiple navbar taps. I think that was the major complaint with the last build.

It was requested that I drop back to the old ROM zip format so I am trying that out today. Now you can open the zip and see things the way they were in kitkat (and not the system.new.dat file or whatever). This should be nice for people that want to mod the ROM before flashing. The only downside is this ROM takes almost 5X longer to flash now that we've switched back to the old method. Please be patient while flashing (and don't panic if it seems to be taking longer than you expected)

Changelog

- Clear All Button to Recents (you have to clear out recents left previous to reboot, this button can only clear out apps that you've opened since boot. It doesn't work on apps previous to boot and will result in a SystemUI FC until you remove them, once they are removed it will work as it did in Kitkat)

Background

Thanks to Google finally adding multiple Fstab line support I can build a kernel that supports both F2FS and EXT4.. (See herehttps://github.com/OptiPop/system…c7c74d1e7ace013)

In the past you could only list one mount point and so it was either F2FS or EXT4 now it looks like thishttps://github.com/OptiPop/device…f166a8f31dd9d9b

So how to get F2FS working?

I've made a permissive F2FS/EXT4 kernel for you to flash that will allow you to gain root and also will support F2FS-all. https://s.basketbuild.com/devs/Cl3Kener/HAMMERHEAD/F2FS/

Make sure to get a copy of this kernel ^^^ to flash. It will work on any Lollipop ROM (it's just stock with F2FS support built with SM 4.9.3 though)

Follow this tutorial (xda) to change file systems to F2FS then flash this ROM and the above kernel. Afterwards you can flash UBER (which also supports F2FS as long as it has the ramdisk from this F2FS kernel) and SuperSU etc.

After boot you'll find that OptiPop is even faster and smoother than before with your new F2FS partitions. I am really enjoying how fast and smooth this ROM is now with new toolchains and F2FS. I'm sure you will too

Can I use your kernel to use F2FS on another ROM?

Yes you can. However, these ROMs MUST not come in block format and you will have to change ext4 to f2fs in install script. OptiPop uses Busybox mount command now so that it will mount either f2fs or ext4. Other aosp-based rom install scripts will specifically have ext4 mounting commands only. Bottom line, it's probably more work for you than it is worth (so just use OptiPop and be happy).

Thanks to +Umberto Valleriani it has now been verified that you can format only system and cache to F2FS if you don't want to wipe data and internal sdcard. This may be convenient for people that don't want to make the full jump to F2FS and simply want to experiment to see what it's like.
