FAQ

I'm reading the FAQ, am i good?
- You sir are the best.

There's anything missing? Gapps?
- Everything is included, root, Gapps and busybox, no need to flash anything else.
- Please avoid flashing third party Gapps.

How can i get rid of Gapps i don't use?
- I suggest to disable them instead of removing them so they won't reappear when you flash an update over.
- No need for third party apps for such task, just go to settings --> all apps managment and hit the disable button,
- after previously uninstalling possible updates first.

Is Cataclysm heavily themed?
- No, Cataclysm is 100% stock themed. All extra features are disabled by default.
- Installing it without enabling anything will result in a 100% stock experience.

How should i install Cataclysm?
- Do a Wipe/Factory reset and then flash. Strongly suggested to update to latest recovery.
- Should be safe to dirty flash new releases over the old ones unless android version bump.
- Cataclysm won't update radio or bootloader for you so you gotta do it yourself.
- If coming from KitKat i suggest to flash Google Factory images first to avoid "sdcard" issues,
- and to update the radio and bootloader.
- Be carefull as it will erase your sdcard datas.

Why there are multiple install packages and how should i flash them?
- If you're not on Cataclysm already, just install latest full stable release.
- If you already have Cataclysm installed, just flash the latest nightly update (no wipe needed).
- The nightly update can be flashed over latest Cataclysm Lollipop stable release.

I get error when flashing Cataclysm
- First make sure to compare the md5 against the one on the file hosting site.
- Don't wipe system. Don't mount system. If you did, reboot again to recovery before flashing.
- Installer for full releases and update zips have been tested as working so any issue you have is on your side only.

Support to adb remount / init.d scripts.
- These features need a custom kernel, please refer to your best kernel dev.

New sources are up, why don't you update your rom?
- I will once Google Factory images are up for our device.

SD card issue, permission denied, 32gb instead of 16gb, files missing.

Smart Radio is grayed out.
- Smart Radio is not available for CDMA users.

- Gallery app is no longer available on Stock Lollipop.
- You may flash this zip to have it back, no wipes are needed.

My lockscreen keeps showing the album art despite i've stopped listening to music.
- It's a known AOSP issue. Make sure you exit correctly the music app,
- either by swiping the notification or by exiting with the menu. Don't kill the app.
- If it's killed by some memory managment, just reopen and exit it, no need to reboot.
- Actually Tune In radio is bugged on stock aswell, you can launch an album with Play music and exit to reset the lockscreen.

I got this bug.
- Lollipop is a fresh release and comes with many bugs, here's a list of common ones, not related to Cataclysm itself:
- Torch bugs out the camera.
- Search bar widget missing from recents.
- Lags, apps closing themselves after days of usage without rebooting.
- No silent mode.
- Apps reappearing in recents view after clearing them.
- Wifi connection issues and battery drain.
- Notifications issues.
- Caller pic not always showing.

My home/back button, notification pulldown isn't working after a dirty flash
- Open a terminal emulator on the phone and digit:
- su (enter)
- am start -n com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardTestActivity (enter)
- follow the instructions and possibly reboot after.

Can't select AM/PM clock style
- You can't select it if you're using the 24Hour clock format.

Volume wake doesn't wake the device.
- When music is playing you need to press both volUp and volDown, to avoid waking the device when adjusting volumes.

I have radio/signal/gps issues
- Those issues aren't and won't ever be related to Cataclysm.
- Make sure you're on latest radio available in Google Factory image.
- Any issue about them is on your side only.

Smart Radio disconnect me on switch, it also takes seconds to reconnect
- It's normal to get disconnected when you switch radio
- The switch is handled by the radio itself, can't make it better nor faster.
- If you want a seamless switch and still saving battery, just enable it without any other options and it will switch only
- when you're connected/disconnected from wifi or mobile data is enabled/disabled.

Why wifi is always enabled on battery stats even if i turn it off?
- Play services by default uses wifi for location services even when it's "off".
- Go to Wifi --> Advanced Settings --> Wifi scan always available to disable it.
- If it still shows keep in mind this happens on stock rom aswell, whether a bug or not.

May i suggest/request something?
- Constructive feedbacks are appreciated.
- Keeping asking for the same features over and over won't make them implemented sooner.
- Posts like "Add this feature cause that rom has it" or "Add this feature, here's the code" are not welcome
- and are considered offensive.
