Das Problem ist halt, dass, wenn Internet Weg ist, man auch nicht mehr telefonieren kann. Zudem soll sich der Klangm einer Stimme verschlechtert haben, seit ich einen NGN Anschluss habe. Ich bin allerdings nicht bei der Telekom, aber habe halt son mistigen NGN Anschluss. Bei meiner alten Wohnung hatte ich noch einen echten Analog-Anschluss.

Norton habe ich seit der 2004er Version nicht mehr angeruehrt. Kann daher nichts dazu sagen. Im Moment wechsel ich je nach Lust und Laune zwischen Kaspersky oder Avast (Free) hin und her.

Ein Defekt nach 1.25 Jahren ist aber nicht so gut. Mich wuerde aber mal die Ursache interessieren. Eventuell ist ein Kondensator oder so abgeraucht.

Jop, iOS 8 ist langsamer als das 7.1er. Mal abwarten. Eventuell muss ich auch mal eine saubere Neuinstallation machen.

Man darf das Programm auch in der Firma nutzen. Aber leider kommt es nicht mit verschluesselten Platten klar. Da bin ich weiterhin auf Acronis angewiesen. Fuer Linux fehlt mir auch noch so eine Software.

Als Alternative unter Windows (und wenn Container nicht benoetigt werden) kann ich DiskCryptor empfehlen. Das ist performanter als TrueCrypt und man kann auch auf Netzwerkfreigaben zugreifen und es unterstuetzt offiziell auch SSDs.

Fuer diejenigen, die TrueCrypt gerne verwendeten, gibt es nun anscheinend Hoffnung, dass es einen neuen Fork geben wird. Der Fork soll CipherShed heiszen und er soll spaeter keinen Code des urspruenglichen TrueCrypt enthalten. Zudem hat sich das CipherShed Team mit dem VeraCrypt Team zusammen getan. Eine erste Alpha Version koennte auch bald folgen. Aktuell wird die Alpha auf Sicherheit geprueft.

Nein, du bekommst die neue Version nur kostenlos, wenn du zwischen 1. August und 16. September Acronis 2014 gekauft hattest (oder irgendwie so waren die Daten). Der Banner war eben auch noch auf deren Website. Im ersten Post habe ich mal Bilder hinzugefuegt.

Acronis hat die finale Version der 2015er Version von True Image herausgebracht. Es wurden einige Dinge gestrichen und die GUI wurde an Windows 8 angepasst. Dies gilt aber nur fuer die installierte Version. Die BootCD hat die altbekannte GUI. Zudem gibt es nur noch eine Version, also kein Unterschied zu Standard, Premium, etc.. Zudem ist Universal Restore ein extra Download. Man erstellt dann 2 CDs. Die Linux (oder WinPE basierte) fuer den Restore und danach bootet man die Universal Restore CD.

Ich habe noch vergessen zu erwaehnen, dass ich als Media Player den selbstkompilierten mpv nutze. Der gefällt mir sehr gut. RPM Fusion liefert nur 0.3.11 mit, aktuell ist 0.5.3. Was mir noch aufgefallen ist, dass mein System seit Kernel 3.16.2 gestern nur so ca. 7 Sekunden zum runterfahren brauchte. Mit Kernel 3.15.x vorher waren es 20 bis 30 Sekunden. Unter Windows dauerte es 2 oder so Minuten.

Da waere eventuell so eine CD wie die c't desinfect besser geeignet. Hat zwar nur 3 oder 4 Scanner, scanner mit den Scannern nur nacheinander, aber laeuft nicht unter Windows. So eine DVD kannste dir, wenn ich net irre, auch selber erstellen mit sardu.

Die Hitman Pro Alternative, die wir mal hier im Forum hatten, hatte auch nicht so viele Scanner oder?

Hi zusammen,

zu debian 4 und 5, sowie ubuntu Zeiten hatte ich KDE benutzt, die Systeme waren aber mehr eine "ich installiere es mal" Spielerei. Gefiel mir immer besser als GNOME 2. Ich nutze ja etwas laenger (nun seit ca. 1.5 Jahren) ab und an mal Fedora. In letzter Zeit oefters als Windows. Ich hatte jetzt fuer geraume Zeit (Fedora 18 bis 20) immer den Standard GNOME 3 genommen. Seit Juli oder August nutze ich nun LXDE. Der ist schoen leicht im Vergleich zu GNOME. Mit XFCE konnte ich mir so aber nicht anfreunden. Wie sind eure Erfahrungen? Bei LXDE gefaellt mir, dass er so schoen schnell auf meinem alten Rechner (Pentium 4) reagiert. Da war GNOME 3 irgendwie traeger (aber immer noch besser als Windows 7 und Windows 8). Wie sind eure Erfahrungen? Eines fehlt mir aber noch, was erst mit Kernel 3.18 einzug erhaelt: GPU berechnetes Video dekodieren. Bei der alten CPU merkt man doch, dass die das nicht kann.

Ich habe so erst mal die Standardprogramme installiert. Zusätzlich von weiteren Quellen noch die Programm HotShots (Ashampoo Snap Alternative), KeePassX (KeePass 2.0 Alternative, selbstkompiliert, da es die 2.0 Alpha 6 mit kdbx nicht fertig kompiliert gab), Steam (bisher nur Portal 1 mal gespielt, lief gut, fast wie unter Windows), GIMP, Chromium Web Browser (da es Opera > 15 nicht fuer 32 Bit Linux gibt und aktuell eh nur als Paket fer ubuntu), gFTP, KVIRC (IRC Client, auch fuer Windows erhaeltlich), Mumble (Voice Chat, aehnlich TeamSpeak), Pidgin IM (bin auch unter Windows von QIP zu pidgin gewechselt), pyload (nutze ich aber eher auf meiner NAS), qBittorrent, TeamVeiwer, TigerVNC, Wuala, Evolution (Email, da Sylpheed kein HTML Mails kann und kein S/MIME), WPS Office (Kingsoft), avidemux (Video Umwandler), Handbrake (Video Umwandler), k3b (Brennprogramm), kdenlive (Video Umwandler), MediaInfo (Infos über Video- und Musikdateien, wie verwendeter Codec, etc.), sowie gParted zur Partitionsbearbeitung. Das ist so meine Grundausstattung.

Als Programm direkt nicht. Wenn es um einzelne Dateien geht, waere eventuell der VirusTotal Uploader einen Blick Wert.

Das ist nett :). Ich haette an Office Pro interesse. Sollte es vergriffen sein, waere ich an Home & Business interessiert, danach dann an Home & Student. Bin aber nicht bei Rokop angemeldet. Reicht da nicht auch eine PN hier?

Den AnVir TaskManager gestern fand ich auch in Ordnung. Auf der offiziellen Seite bekam ich die 8er noch nicht.

Danke, der Link war vor ein paar Tagen nicht mehr gueltig, nun ist er es wieder. War wohl mal in der Heft-CD vorher.

Es gibt mal wieder eine neue Beta, bzw. Release Candidate.

In terms of the core product changes, here's the (incomplete) list:

- We have finally fully rewritten the WebShield so that it now doesn't work as a "transparent proxy" anymore. I.e. no more routing of all HTTP traffic through the AvastSvc.exe process - which should hopefully result in no more conflicts with various firewalls (especially older firewalls that can't handle transparent proxies) and overall improvement in stability and performance. Besides that (and this is really exciting) it allows us to see and detect more threats (the original webshield had some limitations).

- The Firewall component (in IS and Premier) has also changed dramatically. We spent quite some time making it more compatible with other applications, such as Java and various VPN services.

- The installer/updater has been improved to allow more reliable installation in case of infected machines. The installer is now protected by the avast self-defense driver from the very beginning, making it harder for active malware to kill it (if you have problems starting the installer in the first place, it may be a good idea to try to rename the executable to a random name first)

- The changes in the File System Shield's driver should result in faster performance, especially in the copy files and install programs scenarios.

- We have also beefed up the Browser Cleanup tool to be able to rip off even the more stubborn toolbars and other "PUBEs" (Pontentially Unwanted Browser Extensions :))

- We have also fixed a whole bunch of bugs reported in the last couple of months. Especially if you encountered a problem with R1, I suggest you try this new version, chances are that the problem is resolved there.

- For trialware users, we have also added an interactive tutorial that explains all the features of the product in a straightforward, concise manner.

In addition to the core, there's two more things included in this version:

- Connectivity to the new avast! GrimeFighter product. GrimeFighter is our take on PC Optimization / tuneup and is the result of the Jumpshot acquisition that we did earlier this year. This will be a standalone product (sold separately) but has some connections into Avast. It is really a cool product (and I encourage everyone to give it a try) - technically, it's Linux based, although you wouldn't be able to tell as it's perfectly skinned and does a good job at hiding all the complexities.

- SafePrice is a new, optional module of the Avast browser plugins. It's designed to combine security (hence the "safe" part) with best deals (hence the "price") into one, easy-to-use module. It's pretty silent (almost invisible) unless you search for a specific product -- in which case, it would pop up a price comparison and allow you to pick one of the deals in the trusted stores. The feature can be turned on or off through the browser plugin settings.
